Manufacturing Engineer
Job Description: Taking a "hands on" approach, the Manufacturing engineer will immerse oneself in the daily wood processing operations that take place on the production floor. Working with the Production Floor Supervisor, the Manufacturing Engineer will learn a combination of traditional and modern fabrication methods of our architectural wood products from tree trunk to table top. More specifically, the engineer will assist the Production Floor Supervisor in overseeing the daily milling, cutting, CNC programming & fabrication, assembly and finishing departments to gain a holistic understanding of how custom work is built. Concurrently, the engineer will be challenged to identify areas of waste and be asked to design and implement strategies to enact change to optimize production floor activities.
As a Manufacturing Engineer @ PA Bet, a typical day might include the following:
Collaborating with team leaders in areas of engineering, production and project management to prioritize flow of work
Direct shipping & receiving leads on critical items to ship
Updating and maintaining global work flow reports
Schedule and prioritize workflow to meet shipping and installation deadlines
Facilitating communication between engineering, production floor and project management teams
Gathering and organizing manufacturing data for management analysis and performance reconciliations
Additional duties as requested
Qualifications:
Exposure to the custom residential construction/ architectural millwork industry
General knowledge of viewing/printing in AutoCAD
Understanding of blueprints / ability to read /interpret architectural millwork drawings and specifications
Exceptional follow through on commitments
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook
Ability to communicate in the language of drawings
Prior supervisory and project management experience preferred

Project Engineer
Job Description: The Project Engineer will immerse oneself in a balance of jobsite and project management activities. Working closely with PA Bet Superintendents & Project Managers, the Project Engineer will be responsible for continuing the flow of work from the production floor to the jobsite. Working side by side with the Superintendent, the Project Engineer will be asked to assist in solving layout/constructability challenges in the field and in turn, gain a deeper understanding of how our finished work interfaces with the surrounding environment. Furthermore, the Project Engineer will learn standard work practices at the management level by assisting the Project Manager in the areas of cost management, scheduling and document control. Specific responsibilities have been outlined below: Field Responsibilities: · Review site conditions for delivery, installation and finishing scopes of work. Coordinate w/GC Superintendent. · With the help of PAB Superintendent, identify wall/ceiling MEPFS conflicts and address w/GC Superintendent. · Assist PAB Superintendent in field measure & layout activities. · Schedule installation personnel; coordinate product delivery dates w/Production Floor Supervisor. · Photograph site conditions. Office Responsibilities: · Monitor budgeted labor hours vs actual hours for installation scopes of work. · Assist in preparation of submittal packages (i.e., shop drawings, samples, mock-ups). · Facilitate communication between field and office via RFIs & outlook correspondence. · Coordinate with Project Manager & Production Floor Supervisor to ensure all materials/work orders are received & carried out in a timely manner. · Assemble shop drawing packages for field measuring/layout/subcontractor installation activities. · Assist Project Manager in the preparation of change order proposals. · Prepare “1st day” field folders for installation sub-contractors. · Prepare 2-week look ahead schedules for installation crews (coordinate product delivery dates w/Production Floor Supervisor). Daily responsibilities: · Maintain constant communication with Production Floor Supervisor regarding shipping needs for active projects. · Monitor subcontractor installation progress via daily job-walks & progress photos. · Provide updates to Project Manager regarding outstanding work orders for active projects and required delivery dates (adjust as required with the scheduling department) · Schedule/coordinate internal & subcontractor personal for field installations. · Assist in processing of extra work tag management Weekly/monthly responsibilities: · Develop an understanding of traditional architectural casework & millwork installation practices · Manage & maintain active projects punch list · Update Production Meeting Minutes and contribute to meeting discussions · Assist Project Manager & Superintendent with management of installation from the time the cabinet leaves the shop to finished installation/project closeout · Assist Project Manager with monthly billings/forecast to complete. Qualifications:
An appreciation for architectural woodworking/finished carpentry.
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Blubeam, MS Excel & MS Project software
Ability to read and visualize complex shop drawings.
Ability to problem solve and think-through.
Ability to read and interpret blue prints and specifications.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Strong work ethic, team player, and attention to detail.
Valid CA driver license

Architect / AutoCAD Drafter
Job Description: · Create architectural casework submittals for client presentation · Prepare detailed construction drawings to support in-house manufacturing of custom casework, millwork and doors · Interface with project management and production personnel on project related issues · Visit construction sites to assist with field measurements and review casework installations Experience and Background: · Working knowledge of architectural plans and schedules · Proven ability to create detailed construction drawings · Strong AutoCAD skills · Well organized, good oral communication skills · Self-motivated, positive and professional attitude Education: · Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or related field of study
